Hi, I’m Beth and I’m a Multipotentialite.

What is a Multipotentialite you ask?

Here’s a great TedTalk explaining what that means. For those who don’t have 12 minutes to watch, here’s the summary:

A multipotentialite is a person who has many different interests and creative pursuits in life.

Multipotentialites have no “one true calling” the way specialists do. Being a multipotentialite is our destiny. We have many paths and we pursue all of them, either sequentially or simultaneously (or both).

Multipotentialites thrive on learning, exploring, and mastering new skills. We are excellent at bringing disparate ideas together in creative ways. This makes us incredible innovators and problem solvers.

When it comes to new interests that emerge, our insatiable curiosity leads us to absorb everything we can get our hands on. As a result, we pick up new skills fast and tend to be a wealth of information.

Welcome to my online home where I can share my

creative side (my original art, prints and products).

I AM AN ARTIST. It took me a long time to own that because, as a child, I thought I was terrible at art. I wasn’t automatically good at drawing, so while I loved to craft, I believed I was definitely not cut out to be an actual artist.

I began making art when I was in my 30s, during a time when my life was feeling difficult and stagnant. I was recovering from two miscarriages, desiring to be a mother, and missing a connection to myself. Making art provided a way for me to heal and transform during that difficult time and has since helped me get to know who I truly am without so much outside influence.

Creating art enables me to connect to my soul and listen to my internal guidance and wisdom. It brings simple joy and peace to my life and makes me smile, which is especially important while raising my energetic son!

I create energy-infused silver and gemstone jewelry and mixed media art inspired by nature and designed to heal, inspire and empower the amazing women who own it. I love to 'paint' with color and texture, whether from magazine images, gemstones or 3D printed custom stamps, and infuse my art with powerful intention and energy. I am inspired by both the natural world and my inner landscape and I enjoy combining collage art with acrylic paint, pen work, and other fun surprises. One of my favorite things to make are custom pieces because I LOVE to co-create personally meaningful jewelry and art for others.

I create art to delight, inspire and empower women who value creativity and hand-made, personally meaningful art or who may be struggling, feeling unfulfilled, or like something is missing from their lives. Because when these incredible women are lit up and able to create more joy, abundance, and love in their own lives it powerfully transforms their families, communities, and the whole world.

I am so honored to get to do this work and to share it with you!

Oh, and I also work as a Research Associate for SmithPilot, a compensation consulting firm primarily working with Nonprofit Organizations, satisfying my loves of data and all things Excel as well as supporting amazing organizations doing good work in the world.

A few fun facts about me:

I ran a marathon on my 29th birthday up and down SO many HUGE hills in San Francisco, with an injured hip. I also raised money for LLS and made some incredible friends doing that.

I took off by myself on a one-way ticket to Thailand in 2007 and told my family & friends I’d be back in anywhere between 6 months and 2 years. This was my third trip to Thailand, the first was during the big tsunami (I’m sure it was divine intervention that my friend and I were safe in Bangkok instead of in Phuket because all of the flights were booked). I loved being immersed in Thai culture and being the English ‘translator’ helping European and Thai friends understand each other. I ended up working at a Holistic Health Retreat center, living on a small tropical island, teaching English to Thai locals, then backpacking through Australia and New Zealand. I even got to meet up with my host family from an Exchange Program (when I was 14) and my friends from a Summer Camp in Tromso, Norway (when I was 11) through Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV), an incredible organization that my 6th grade counselor recommended for me. CISV was founded in the belief that peace is possible through building friendship and mutual understanding, starting with children. Thanks for supporting these experiences Mom & Dad!

In 2013 I birthed my son at home, in the kitchen, on purpose! It was amazing, I had a birthing tub and the best midwifery team. My husband was super supportive but has a much more stressful memory of the experience, boiling water on the stove for hours to fill the tub after the hot water heater ran out of water, tracking down necessary hardware in the snow on a Friday night. Poor guy!

Original Flower Pot Collage.jpg

This is the first piece of art that I made where I got into my glorious creative flow. I was pregnant with my son and my Mother in Law had asked me to paint a piece of cardboard that she could use as a fireplace cover. I felt honored yet totally intimidated, I had no idea how to paint flowers, let alone a piece that large. My husband cut a huge piece of cardboard, painted it with black automotive paint and brought it to me. I thought, I can’t paint flowers, but maybe I can collage them! This thing pretty much made itself through me - I sat on my living room floor for 3 days straight with a bunch of magazines, scissors and mod podge and this is what was created. I still love it!
